Expertise I can answer quite a few questions on early US R & B, as well as psychedelic folk and rock and late '60s hard R & B and (what would become known as "heavy metal"). I can answer most questions about band line-ups and band record labels from the 1970s. From 1981 to 1990, I was heavily involved in the alternative radio and punk rock scenes and can identify bands with cities (called "scenes") and record labels.
Experience My brother was an avid album-oriented rock fan in the mid to late '70s and early '80s, and I idolized him and his vast 8-track collection of bands like Sweet, Boston, Styx, Queen, Foghat, and Nazareth. Later, I got into punk rock, especially hardcore, and worked at a college radio station doing punk rock and psychedelic radio shows from 1984-1989.
