Question
I'm trying to find the name of a song, I believe from the 70's.  It's about a girl who waits for her sailor and the only lyrics I can remember are something along the lines of "brandy/brandi does her best to understand" and "the sailors say brandi/y what a good wife you would be".  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Answer
Ah Jim, you have hit one of my favourites from that era ....

This song was written in 1971 by Elliot Lurie and hit number 1 in Aug of 1972.  The group is called "Looking Glass" and the song is a one hit wonder entitled "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)".

Thanks for asking your question and feel free to come back with any more you may have .....

Having grown up during the 70`s, I have a great appreciation for what I consider to be the best music ever recorded. My favourite group from that era is The Eagles and I believe that the summer of 1976 was the best summer for music releases! Ask me anything about any top 40 group from the mid 70`s to the mid 80`s and I am to say with most certainty, that I will be able to provide you with an answer!
