Question
QUESTION: hi there, the london phil did a casette tape in the 80s i think called love classics. it covered lady in red, stairwy to heaven, whiter shade of pale, ruby tuesday etc. It was all instrumental with no voice, im certain it was a double casette. can you tell me more information about this so i might buy an old copy please.

ANSWER:   Chances are what you are talking about is a compilation that came from various releases.
I was able to find this:  http://www.tunetribe.com/tunetribe/Album?album_id=823057
 And also:  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Symphonic-Rock-Royal-Philharmonic-Orchestra/dp/tracks/B0

Could it be by the Royal Philharmonic instead of the London Philharmonic?

Neither contain all the songs you mentioned but maybe it will put you on the path to finding what you are looking for.
I suspect the  LPO did a few of these kind of albums,  and that the release you are talking about is a compilation from them.

QUESTION: hi again, i've found it may have been the london symphony orchestra because Maurice Murphy played trumpet on Ruby Tuesday. All those four tracks were on the double cassette album, as well as the living years and i wanna know what love is. Can you help any more please.

Answer
I did quite  a bit of research and only found what I sent to you.
You might get lucky and find it by looking in Ebay.
The best I can suggest is that you do web searches for London Symphony Orchestra Discography.

The has got to be a website out there somewhere that gives a complete list of their recordings (  which would be quite extensive I would think).

I can answer general questions about rock era bands, record labels they were on, and names of songs. Often I can tell the name of the record company that released a song, as well as the name of the song, and the year of release based on some of the lyrics. I grew up during the rock era and I am a musician myself, and always read the album and 45 info for production credits as well as lineups. One of the chat rooms I go to is quite amused at my ability to name a song along with it`s year of release and record label. I was also a record collector for years.
