Classic Rock/"As the moon rises" Hippie song...

Question
Hi,

I have this song in my head that I have heard many times before and most recently was used as background music over images of 60's woodstock type hippie girls dancing (I believe it was a documentary about such times). I also think it is quite a famous song but I can't track it down :-(

All I can remember is the lyrics "As the moon rises....." (That is the entire line rather than me not remembering the rest of the sentence). Also "As" could in fact be "When" or "And". This is almost certainly part of the chorus of a slowish tempo song with the words "moon" and "rises" elongated for several beats.  It is sung by a man probably with harmonization.

All my lyric googling has failed I'm afraid (it is not "Bad moon rising", "Moon river" or "Moondance" for example).  Would dearly love and appreciate some help as I'd love to play it for my girlfriend :-)

Answer
The only thing that i can come close is by The Ozark Mountain Daredevils song called Moon On The Rise it is off of their Don't Look Down Album. I'm not sure if that is the song but i could picture it being in a 60's 70's hippieish type of documentary.
