Question
Hi Geoff - just came across site - really good!
A song I heard, probably 80's, has the refrain
'only the stones remain' and has a Bowie-ish sound
but as I dont know the title, I cant find it
can you help?

Oy vey!!  You don't give a guy much to go on ....

Only song I found even remotely close with those lyrics is "Small Town" by Matt Turk.  It is off the album called "The Hour" released in 1992.

If this isn't it, can you PLEASE send me some more details.

Having grown up during the 70`s, I have a great appreciation for what I consider to be the best music ever recorded. My favourite group from that era is The Eagles and I believe that the summer of 1976 was the best summer for music releases!
