Question
I have seached on line for a definitive meaning of the song. I happen to like the song, but the lyrics leave me wondering if it indeed support racism. Confederate flag aside,if the lyrics of Montgomery, Alabama is in opposion (i am not so concerned about a specific or genaral concern with the march)of civil rights, then that is a problem for me;though I think L.S. is and were a wonderful band.

Please. Please ,if you could give me a clear interpertation on the song .

Your opinon is great sought after and welcomed.

Cashor.

Answer
Cashor, that is one of the best questions i have ever been asked, i have researched this myself before in search of an answer. Personally i say it is not in support of racism. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Rather than me to post a answer to your question i want to point you to a website link and let you determine the answer for yourself. I am sorry i cant answer this for you and i don't think anybody else can answer it either. I truly think its a matter of ones own interpretation of the song. Just for an example, There are many songs that have two meanings and many of which are songs about drugs that are portrayed as something else and ect....
