I've never heard this before. If it was composed for the website, it was skillfully done.  It sounds very much like Mozart -- although the harpsichord would be unlikely for him.  Maybe someone else from the middle Classical period?  I have a friend (a violinist) who knows almost all of the well-known things featuring violin, and I will ask him when I see him.  If he has an answer, I'll write a followup in a few days.
