Question
Which musical elements (tone, rhythm, melody, harmony, form, ect.) are used in the
1812 Overture? I am writing an essay and need to analyze this piece.

Answer
Well, most any piece of music has tone (tone color?), melody (except 12-tone/serial music), harmony, and some sort of form.

Without listening to the piece again (which we all know :-) the growing conflict between Napoleon and Russia is symbolized by the juxtaposition of the French anthem La Marseillaise and Russian folk songs and hymns, ending with the triumphant Russian national anthem, God Save the Tsar.
