About Anthony Dinsdale
Expertise
Those concerning general information and identification of 'classical' music and composers, twentieth century in particular. Other serious music, obscure composers and film scores also covered.

Experience
Just a lifetime of listening and something of a talent for remembering pieces and styles.

Organizations
None relevant. Shakespeare would not have spelled that with a 'z' :)

Publications
Several but none relevant to this subject.

Education/Credentials
None relevant. I could answer in French but have not selected this from the final drop down box as the prompt is ambiguous or just plain incorrect. I think you meant to say 'in addition to', not 'other than'.

Awards and Honors
Apparently I am quite good at fencing.

Answer
Whistling works : )

It's The Swan from Saint Saens' 'The carnival of the animals'.  He was always afraid that people were going to remember him for the carnival and unfortunately it has become somewhat true.  A bit like Holst and 'The Planets'.

This is grossly unfair, as both composers left a substantial body of wonderful works.  SS other great hit (well known I mean) was his 'Danse Macabre'.

Regards

Tony
