About Pat G
Expertise I have listened to classical music most of my life, usually for many hours a day. I play piano, organ, some classical guitar and recorder, and I sing. I studied piano and organ in college. I am familiar with different composers and styles of classical music, and different eras, as well as the music theory behind the different types of classical music, such as baroque, romantic, impressionistic, neo-romantic, and other styles.
Experience I have been playing piano since I was 3, and I am now 65 years old. I took formal lessons for about 11 years, and took some piano and organ performance courses in college. I also sang in the Tucson Masterworks Chorale for a number of years, and can sing anything from baritone to first soprano. We performed twice a year, usually a major choral work, ranging from requiem masses to Carmina Burana. I also attended recorder society meetings once a month. We would read compositions and perform them together. I took several children to their music lessons and rehearsals and usually stayed and watched intensely. Our children studied violin, viola, flute, French horn, trumpet, and trombone.
Education/Credentials I studied piano and organ in college, and took courses in music theory. I have also taken seminars in pre-Columbian folk music with Xochinoki, as well as played a short while in a gamelan, and a balalaika orchestra, where I played autoharp.

Question To whom it may concern,
After countless researches on the internet, I still can't find the title of the song played in Poirot's Five Little Pigs film.
According to IMDB, Gnossienne is played and Alice Blue Gown, but there is also another one. It starts just when the female actress in black is introduced. It was somewhat in waltz and I think, violin.
Here the link to youtube so that you can see and hear what I mean.
Five Little Pigs 1/10; At particularly 1:12 till 2:44.

I would really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Raven
Answer Hello, Raven,
I don't recognize the piece. It's a waltz, with full orchestra, but the opening notes and the melody are violins. The bass melody line that comes in later is probably French horns. The style sounds rather French (like something from a French romantic movie, in other words).
This was apparently one of Hallmark's made-for-TV special movies. A&E was involved in making it. There's a good chance the music was composed for that particular film. However, I was unable to find composer credits anywhere. I did quite a bit of searching, and drew a blank also. You can ask this question of another expert, or if you ask me a followup question, I can then turn it over to the question pool.
These segments on YouTube are often very difficult to identify. But sometimes you can ask the producers by email. I don't think it's likely you'll find out that way, either.
You have one other option: buy the used DVD at Amazon.com and look at the credits when you get it. But of course, that would cost a little something.
Good luck!
