Question
To Pat;

Hopefully this will only take about 30 seconds of your time.  I have been trying over the course of a few years asking acquaintances and such to try and find out the title of this piece or if it is a piece at all, but haven't really had any concrete leads.

song is available here ; (filesize approx. 0.5MB)

It's the one titled 'kannadzuki no miko'.

If you do not open archive files or download files, please tell me what manner is acceptable for me to provide sample music.

Thank you for your time,
~Joey

P.S. The 'andalusia' track is a Spanish / Flamenco guitar track I have also been trying to get the title for, if you could identify that track as well I would be most grateful.

Answer
Hello, Joey,

I don't recognize the one called "kannadzuki no miko". The title is in Japanese. The other one, Andalusia, no problem. It's Asturias (Leyenda) by Albeniz. Originally composed for piano, it is more frequently played on guitar. That isn't the complete piece. There is a slow, chord section, followed by a similar section to the one it starts with. I actually play the first part, but never learned the rest of it. Good luck on the other piece.

The manner you presented is fine. I recently had to reinstall Windows, so I had to reinstall WinZip. But that's OK, because I needed to do it anyway. When I can look at a file in WinZip first, I can determine from the extension if it might contain a virus.

Joey,

Thank you for the kind rating. The Albeniz piece is classical, so you'd be less likely to find it on an acoustic guitar site. Try looking on Amazon.com and look for Albeniz, who was actually a pianist. It's one of eight piano pieces in a suite called Suite espańola, op. 47. You might enjoy the other pieces as well, some of which are also performed on guitar. Here is an article about Albeniz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Albéniz . To hear the suite on guitar, select the search terms "albeniz suite espanola guitar" on Amazon, and choose Echoes of Spain by John Williams, guitarist (not the same person as the composer of works such as the Star Wars music). If you go to that album, you should be able to listen to tracks.

I have winrar, but no need for a more "robust" piece of software at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion.

And you're welcome.

Expertise

I am no longer answering questions asking me to identify music. Most music is either on YouTube, which crashes my browser, or on another site that crashes my browser. I am available for other questions.

Experience

I have been playing piano since I was 3, and I am now 66 years old. I took formal lessons for about 11 years, and took some piano and organ performance courses in college. I also sang in the Masterworks Chorale for a number of years, and can sing anything from baritone to first soprano. We performed twice a year, usually a major choral work, ranging from requiem masses to Carmina Burana. I also attended recorder society meetings once a month. We would read compositions and perform them together. I took several children to their music lessons and rehearsals and usually stayed and watched intensely. Our children studied violin, viola, flute, guitar, clarinet, French horn, trumpet, and trombone.

Education/Credentials
I studied piano and organ in college, and took courses in music theory. I have also taken seminars in pre-Columbian folk music with Xochimoki, as well as played a short while in a gamelan, and a balalaika orchestra, where I played autoharp.
