Question
QUESTION: Hi! First of all great site and I'm really glad there are ppl who share their knowledge and love for classical music. The tune I'm looking for is, I think, Italian and it might be a ballroom music, my guess is baroque. I've made a sample of the beginning of the tune (as much as i remember it, so I'm not sure of its accuracy but I think it can be recognized)and please answer me if you know who is the composer and the name of the composition.

ANSWER: i'll need the sample...

QUESTION: OOOPS, Sorry. here's the link italian ballroom masters.mp3 - 0.22MB(I made the sample so I don't think it's 100% accurate concerning the notes and instruments but I think it's pretty decent). Thanx

Answer
ok...i have listened to your piece of music and one thing i can tell you straightaway is it not ballroom and almost certainly not Italian.
I don't know exactly what it is  but I would put money on it being an arrangement of one of Bach's keyboard works transcribed for orchestra. Unfortunately, there are 1000's of these and only a keyboard player specialising in Bach and the Baroque composers of the time could tell you exactly which, and they are few and far between.
But ballroom...no!!!!
best wishes
steve
