Classical Music/What is this classical piece called?
Expert: David Froom - 6/25/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Hi David, I'm sure this is an easy question but I would like to know which classical piece this is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xVoQspV664 It is very familiar! This videogame has about 50 pieces in it (all uncredited in-game or in the manual) and I can only identify 10 although each one is familiar, but just knowing what this one is called would be a great help!
Thank you in advance!
ANSWER: Hi Sasha,
It is the fourth movement (Rondo) of Mozart's Serenade No. 13 in G major, K. 525, "Eine kleine Nachtmusik."
The descriptive title, which means "A Little Nightmusic" is the name by which this is usually known.
Happy listening,

QUESTION: As you answered so quickly <3 I wonder if I can be cheeky and ask you to identify another piece?

They are mostly arranged differently in the game, Gnossienne No. 1 is almost unrecognisable..
AnswerThe opening is the same piece (Mozart, Eine Kleine Nachmusik), but the third movement. I think it then proceeds to a bunch of original (to the game) music -- but the little trumpet fanfare is right out of Mahler's 1st Symphony, last movement (it happens a few times through that movement).
