Classical Music/Piano piece name

Question
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me at all please. I heard a piano piece on one of my friend's CDs but it was a mixtape, so I couldn't find the name from there. Its theme is a driving melody with ascending major chords before descending with triplets, so it sounds like: DOO DOO DOO DOO/ DOO DOO DOO/dododo, the capitalised sections showing (not very well) that the chords are accented, longer and louder than the triplet notes. It sounded like film music almost, with a small section of instruments behind for support. I'll try and ask for the piece's name, but I wonder if you can help at all? I'm sorry if what I've written makes no sense whatsoever, I find it so hard to describe pieces that I've heard since I've got next to no knowledge of teh piano and there's no way of adding a pitch or idea of the pitch when writing the notes here!

Thanks sooo much

xxx

Answer
(Grapefruit, huh?!)

What else was on the mix?  Maybe this piece is related in some way.

Does your friend still have any of the original CDs so you can check these against the mix pieces?

Are the mix pieces mostly movie themes?  If so, the piece you seek is likely to be something newly-composed just for a film.

If you can get me any more info, I'll see what I can do with it.  Without any more info that you have been able to dig up, I'm afraid this is all the help I can give you!  Do write back if you turn up anything new!

>>*****IMPORTANT NOTE*****<<: I do not answer questions marked "private." I don't want to type the same thing to someone else later if I typed it to you already! My answers are not toss-offs. If I don't know the answer, I will do my best to find it.

I have many requests to identify a piece of music. If I can't identify it, I will tell you (1) what composer I think it is; (2) what composer or composers I think it is not; (3) what style period, genre, etc. I think it is or is not. And give you any other help I can to help you find the answer.

Please find a clear clip. In the interest of good computer hygiene, I will not download a clip. Nor will I go to a site where I must "register" in order to hear the clip. Please mount the clip on a public site for which you can give me a direct URL. Thanks for your understanding in this. Remember, I'm a volunteer!

Students, I do NOT do homework questions. The purpose of answering questions on assignments is not only to learn the information, but to LEARN HOW TO FIND IT. Re-read chapter. Look in the index. Look in the references given at the end of the chapter or elsewhere in the book. You also probably can find the answer using Google. Don't be lazy. I wouldn't be doing you any favors by doing your homework for you! I already know the answer. You don't. You need to find it. MORE IMPORTANTLY, you need to learn HOW to find it. That's the whole purpose of education, after all!
