Classical Music/musical techniques

Question
hi,
I've just started a course on music -all by myself, this makes it hard because I have no teacher-I was wondering if you could properly explain the meanings of musical dynamics, tone, pitch and so on. I do understand them a little but not as much as I'd like too.

Also, did Mozart compose the tune of which we sing the alphabet too??

thanks very much

Answer
First the last question:

Mozart did not write that tune.  It was a French folk song, "Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman," which he heard and liked.  He wrote a set of piano variations on the tune.  But not the tune itself.

The first question:  You are asking for me to be the teacher for you for a fundamentals of music class.  It is a bit much for this kind of forum.  It is the problem of doing a music course by yourself -- no teacher to help!  Local colleges near you certainly must have music fundamentals courses, and local piano teachers might be able also to take you on as a student for this kind of thing.

Good luck with your explorations,
