Hi, a couple of years ago you recommended Haydn's Baryton trios. At long last I am working through them, and by and large they are wonderful little gems. thanks for the suggestion. btw Haydn seems more consistently good than any other composer I have listened to. my listening habit now goes back nearly 50 years

I think Mozart is wonderfully consistent, too - and consistently wonderful.  Also Bach. Beethoven is varied, tho you can usually tell it's he.  Ditto Schubert and Chopin.

Glad you enjoyed the trios.  Look now at Schubert's sonata for Arpeggione (often played on a cello; see if you can find a recording that's actually on an Arpeggione)mb

Students, I do NOT do homework questions. The purpose of answering questions on assignments is not only to learn the information, but to LEARN HOW TO FIND IT. Re-read chapter. Look in the index. Look in the references given at the end of the chapter or elsewhere in the book. You also probably can find the answer using Google. Don't be lazy. I wouldn't be doing you any favors by doing your homework for you! I already know the answer. You don't. You need to find it. MORE IMPORTANTLY, you need to learn HOW to find it. That's the whole purpose of education, after all!
