Classical Music/Books about the art of classical pianists?

Question
Dear Sir,

Is there any good book which analyzes and offers an appreciation of the art of contemporary classical pianists?

A book which tells why Mitsuko Uchida is special, how Pletnev is great with Russian composers.

I know there is plenty of guides out there. But I don't see a particular book on classical pianists, apart from some memoir and biographies.

Thank you

Answer
Two books come to mind.  The first one is The Art of the Piano by David Dubal.  I have the first edition of this book that was written in the 1980s but he did update it later on with more entries.

The other one is The Great Pianists by Harold Schonberg, which covers the history of piano playing but to about 1970 or so.  It doesn't include anything about todays pianists but its a really good history book on pianists.

Hope this helps.

Jim
