Classical Music/classical music in a cartoon

Question
Could you please identify the music in the Warner Bros. 1935
cartoon, ''My Green Fedora'' from 5' 00'' to 6' 20'' ? It is available on You tube. Thank you
for your help.

Answer
Hi,
This is all by the composer credited in the opening credits.  He used in that spot some generic developmental materials that recall other composers' music (particularly Wagner and Liszt, I think -- listen, for example, to Liszt's "Les Prelude"), but nothing precise, and none of the most prominent themes by Wagner or Liszt.  These cartoons demanded a lot of music, written for full orchestra, written very quickly. The composers grabbed whatever they could.

Hope this helps.
