Question
I have been searching for information on Bozza's "Image" for solo flute and can't seem to find details such as when it was composed.  Do you know where information on this piece might be found?

Answer
Hello Mila,

I did a quick search in some library sites.  I can find only that the publication (by Leduc) is listed as c.1940.

You might try going to a library that has Groves (and Groves's most thorough listing would be in their online edition).  They certainly will have a listing for Bozza.  At the bottom of his listing, you'll find a works list, which probably will include this piece, and perhaps will also include a date for it.  Beyond that, they will have a bibliography, and that might give you some more places to look.

Finally, you could contact the publisher and ask them -- or you could try to contact the author of the Groves article (shouldn't be too hard to find with some good internet searching).

Best of luck,
