Classical Music/Requiem by Fauré; Which orchestra or onductor?

Question
Hello,

In a torrent called 'Classical top 100' (in 2 parts of 50 songs each) I found the most wonderful classical music my ears have ever heard. These are two parts (Pie Jesu and In Paradisum) of the Requiem by Gabriel fauré.

I tried to find this version to buy a cd with the whole requiem but I can't find it as I skipped through the samples on amazon.com and other sites.

What makes this version different from others I heard are the cristal clear vocals in both parts. In other versions I have heard the voices were (old?) with a kind of vibration, and sometimes with a solo voice instead of the choir that sings in the version I downloaded.

In this version both Pie Jesu and In Paradisum are mostly sung by woman. Only in In Paradisum the men join for a short moment. In Paradisum starts with a simple organ melody that goes on through the whole song.

I know it must be an impossible question but I had to try.

Thanks anyway,

Answer
Hello Bart,

Is there really no identifying information in the music you downloaded?  Usually those "Classical Top 100" identify the performers in some way.

If you have any information, write again, and I'll see if I can help.

Without that information, I really can't help, other than to suggest that you:

1)  keep searching through as many online CD sites as you can find (including smaller ones such as arkivemusic.com)

OR

2)  look in your local libraries

OR

3)  try to find a small CD store, where the people who work there often can help with this kind of question.

Good luck,
