Please accept my apology for this tardy reply. I am in the middle of a production at the moment, and my availability has been a bit limited.

There are a number of sites that offer information about music theory. If you go to yahoo.com and type in "beginning music theory", then you will find many sites devoted to basic music theory concepts. I looked at http://www.musictheory.net/index.html and thought that it was a good beginning tutorial. As you will see, there are also thousands of other sites that will assist as well, depending on the level that your grandchildren might need.
