Hi I have completed a college course on Natural Health Consultant through Strattford Career Institute and have received my diploma. I have worked with the public concerning natural health issues and benefits on all alternatives at a local health store for six years now,but what I really want to do is consult with these people individually and give them the one on one that they are seeking.I live in Missouri and was seeking your advice on what I can do to get started and what if any licensing do I need to get started???? Any advice is greatly appreciated...Thank You Sincerely Jamie...

Answer
Missouri does not have a licensing law when it comes to practicing nutrition. Please refer to the following for more information: http://lifestylemanagement.com/state_law_pages/laws_missouri.htm
You cannot call yourself a dietician, but from what I can tell, you can start a business as a NHC, no problem.  I suggest you get my book: The Handbook for Starting a Business as a Natural Health Consultant: A Guide for the Professional. That should definitely give you enough info to get started. Go to www.lulu.com for the most recent edition.
Good to luck to you and this exciting endeavor!
