QuestionQUESTION: I am interested in creating/developing my own practice. I am considering the Certified Natural Health Professional program (which is connected to Trinity) and the Master Herbalist at Trinity. The costs of the Clayton programs are prohibitive for me. As an expert, what advice would you give? What are your recommendations? Thank you.
ANSWER: I think the programs at Trinity are very good, getting your Master Herbalist certificate will definately allow you to begin your own practice. If other programs are cost prohibitive for you I think the programs you have selected will give you the best benefit for the money spent. good luck.

QUESTION: Thank you for your quick response. I am interested in your opinion of the Certified Natural Health Professional (www.cnhp.org) designation? If I obtain the Master Herbalist, I'm thinking of eventually getting the CNHP to add to my credentials. The program seems to have a solid core foundation...with opportunities to add knowledge of specialty areas such as aromatherapy, homeopathy, etc. Thank you.
AnswerThe CNHP program looks like a good basic course for individuals interested in getting basic, beginning knowledge about some of the alternative modalities in common practice.
I think it would be a great program to introduce you to different modalities but in my opinion the CNHP program in itself isn't enough knowledge to base a practice on. It is always nice to have certifications and I don't think it would be a bad idea to get the certification, just make sure you obtain a lot more education before beginning a practice. Good Luck.
