Question
Hi there
I've recently built a new house and when the contractors poured the concrete patio (exposed aggregate) they didn't cover the tinted glass doors. I now have splash-back staining on the lower part of the doors. Can you please recommend a cleaning product to get this off?
Thanks
Mike

Answer
Mike,

Honestly, the contractors were practicing inexcusable and unsatisfactory building technique. Builders should ALWAYS cover glass to protect it when working nearby with concrete.

Often tinted glass is considered ruined when this occurs. Depending on the damage that was caused, sometimes an experienced glass man can with chemically or mechanically remove the damage.

I do not think this is a do-it-yourself project. The best recourse is to urge your contractor to do the right thing and use his insurance to replace the damage or at the very least have him hire someone experienced in glass repair.

I hope this answer helps. If your decision is to get your contractor to "do the right thing" and you need someone to back you up on this, I have an associate that specializes in this sort of thing that I can put you in contact with.

Sincerely,
