Cleaning Up/Ceramic Stove Top

Question
Hello
I have a ceramic stove top. I turned off the burner and as it was cooling down I forgot and put a plastic container down on the stove. The top of the container (which was attached) touched the hot burner melting the plastic on the stove top. We can't seem to get it off. We tried reheating the burner, the cleaner that comes with the stove, scrubbies and a razor blade...nothing is working.Any suggestions? Thanks

Answer
Rachelle thanks for the question. I'll start by saying we've all done things like this so you're in good company here :)

Also I have a little fine print for you to read: I am not an expert about stove tops. So I'll share what has worked for me and my clients, but you'll have to try it at your own risk, okay?

Now how about some solutions? These are all suggested on a cool surface and I prefer to use a credit card. I save the ones from the offers they send me, but you can use a real one, just be sure you can replace it if it brakes- espaically this time of year!

These are listed in order of number of times we had success, good luck I hope I helped. -Jamie www.JamieNovak.com

WD40 rubbed on with a soft cloth followed by a cream polish to make it look like new again.

Acetone (not non-acetone) nail polish remover which is the kind women use to remove false fingernails so we know it melts plastic, reapply on towel since it evaporates quickly.

Bar Keepers Friend Powder cleaner (a small can with a sprinkle top)

Windex again on a soft cloth.
