Cleaning Up/Non-phosphate dishwasher soap

Question
In the interest of being green, I purchased a non-phosphate dish soap for the dishwasher.  It leaves a terrible white residue on everything.  Is there anything I can add to the soap or the dishwasher to alleviate this so I can continue to use this greener alternative?

Answer
Hi Liz,
I've had the same issue and the manufacturer recommended using 1/2 the amount which solved the residue issue while still getting the dishes clean. There was too much soap to water and the dishes were not rinsing thoroughly. I hope this helps and congrats on going with healthy alternatives :)
