Ima dead man... thanks for the time though

Answer
Hi Joe,

Sorry for the delayed response.  I am sorry to hear about your situation.  Sometimes certain products can set a stain if they are unsuccessful at getting the stain out.  This may or may not be the case in your situation.  I would suggest a professional cleaning of the rug, but it that isn't in the budget, then use a mild soap and cold water and just keep cleaning!  There is probably still residue in the carpet from the dog.  No amount of cleaning will get it out.  You just to need run soap and water through the rug until it runs clear.  You'll probably want to do this outside so as not to ruin the wall-to-wall.  Be mindful of color running.  Don't fold a wet rug over onto itself.  Make sure it dries completely flat.  Use white towels to blot the area.  It is time consuming, but hopefully this will do the trick.

Best of luck,
