Cleaning Up/Using Mr. Clean sponges on a laminate wood floor

Question
While the sponges clean up everything on a light laminate floor, does it damage the finish?  How would you protect the floor after cleaning it thoroughly with the Mr.Clean sponge?

Answer
Hi Bev;
This is something that varies according to the type of hardwood floor that you have. It is best to contact the manufacturer (usually they give you an 800 number) and get the experts to answer your question.
Normally, any harsh chemical can eventually take the finish off of the wood. But, manufacturers usually recommend products that is good with the composition of the flooring that they produce.
I hope I helped,

Here are a few questions to ask;
1. Will Mr. Clean sponges take off any of the finish on the flooring over time?
2. Can I use ammonia on the flooring? (This is inexpensive, environmental friendly and pulls up grime easily without a lot of scrubbing)
3. What can I use to protect the flooring from scratches and mars?
4. What type of polish do you recommend?
5. If something takes the finish off of the flooring, what do I have to do to restore it?

I hope this helps you a little Bev.
