Cleaning Up - cleaning a wedding dress
Expert: Jamie Novak - 10/21/2009
Question Hi Jamie,
My son recently got married in las Vegas and his bride wore a white wedding dress. The bottom of the dress got rather grubby. Is there a way to clean it without having to pay the ridiculous price that the dry cleaners in the UK are asking.
Thank you
John
Answer Hi John,
Congratulations on the wedding, I hope your son and his wife will have a very happy life.
Now about that dress...it all depends on what the material is. Silk? Etc...
Once we know the material it can be cleaned.
Martha Stewart has a cleaning chart

I hope that helps.
Another thing you can do, depending on the bottom of the dress is to have a tailor take off the bottom 1/2 inch or so to get to the clean part of the dress.
