Cleaning Up/carpet stain removal

Question
Our adult children got grease on their apartment carpet, have you any suggestions as to removing it. Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
Hi Kim,

I find that it is the adults that always make the biggest messes!  Sorry to hear about the rug.  I'm assuming that you have wall-to-wall?  Some products that work on grease are Afta (sold at hardware stores, usually, and used in dry cleaning), and 409 (believe it or not!).  As with any product, you really need to do a test in an inconspicuous area to make sure that the carpet isn't negatively affected by the product.  If you're okay, then go ahead and hit the stain with it.  In addition to a product, elbow grease seems to work best with grease stains.  You're lucky.  Grease is easier to get out that dye-based stains!

Best of luck,
Katie
