Question I have windows that have vinyl frames, the frames have become dirty and I
would like to clean them up good. What are the best cleaners? Is there any
special technique that has to be used?
Answer John,
Usually warm water with a little liquid detergent (dish washing detergent works well) will do a fine job. If your vinyl frames have been stained, that's another story. For example some times bird droppings after the bird has eaten berries will stain the window frame. In that case you may have to put a little chlorine bleach in your warm water / detergent mix. Go easy on the chemicals, a little goes a long way.
One way to protect your frames after they have been cleaned is to apply a little car wax and buff the frames to a satin gloss. Just be careful not to get wax on the windows or you will have another cleaning jog on your hands.
Hope this helps!
