Be careful with the iron, keep temp to warm (low). Too high can melt some carpets (nylon, I think). Also, be sure to clean the wax off the iron before using again on clothing. This can be done by ironing some rags. Be sure to clean it out of the steam ports with a toothpick if needed. Careful, it may still be hot.
