How to remove stains, new or set in, from clothing. What products work best for those "impossible to clean" areas in your home. What "products" and " appliances" work best in cleaning a home.

Experience
I have had a cleaning business for 7 years and have experimented with many products. I contract with hospitals in my area to remove stains from the lab coats the regular cleaners can't remove.

Cleaning Up - removing wax out of carpet?

Expert: Sijka - 2/7/2009

Question
I knocked over a candle tart and it splattered all over my wall, carpet and side of my desk.

How can I get the wax off my wall, carpet and desk?

I've heard people say to iron it out but I dunno.

Answer
Hi Kayla,
First use the side of a credit card to scrape off the excess wax off the surfaces of the wall and desk and scrape it over the carpet to remove excess. If the wax on the carpet is tough to remove0place some ice in a bggie and leave on the area til that wax is almost frozen-then try to scrape it off.

Yes, a warm iron is the tool you will use.  Be sure it is NOT on the "steam" setting just WARM.  Get a few brown paper bags, taking them apart so they are only one-ply.
Place a "larger than the wax splatter area" piece of brown paper over the area and press with a warm iron for about 5-10 sec then move a new piece of brown paper over the splatter area and repeat.  Keep moving the paper so the wax will be absorbed.

You didn't say if the candle wax was colored.  If so, write back and I'll give you more info.
