Cleaning Up/Ink stain

Question
Hi, I got printer ink on kitchen counter? What should I use that not only removes the ink but limits the damage to the counter. The material is a builder grade. Nothing expensive.

Answer
hi Lawrence;
There are a few ideas that I can give you that may help. All of them aren't going to hurt your countertops.

1. Mix baking soda and vinegar and apply. When you mix this, it will foam up so don't get too surprised. It does calm down very fast and will work well for you.

2. Baking soda on a wet towel and if you need a little abrasive added to it, simply apply a small amount of table salt and rub gently, going from the outside to the inside of the stain.

3. Hairspray usually will do the trick too. spray the hairspray on the stain and wash with regular dish soap, continue this process until all of the stain is lifted.

4. Rubbing alcohol will usually do the trick for you too. Simply apply to a cotton ball and gently absorb as much ink as possible and then apply again, pushing the cotton ball to the inside of the stain.

With all of these, you may need to do it two or three times, but the ink will come out without harm to the countertop. All of these are basically 'green clean' items and natural cleaners except for the goo gone. Although the goo gone isn't as toxic as most chemicals.
Good Luck and happy scrubbing,
Jan
