Cleaning Up/Turkish silk rug

Question
We recently had a flood inside our home and our 6x9 silk rug got wet.  We dried it outdoors hanging it vertically.  Other rugs needed cleaning so we contacted a rug cleaning and restoration company. He talked us into having the silk one hand washed.  It came back a different color.  It didn't bleed just changed color.  What can be done and what recourse do I have?

Answer
Hi Denny,

I am sorry to hear about your flood and your rugs.  Color and dye issues are generally a tough fix, but they can be done.  Do you think you could send me some pics of your rugs?  This will give me a better idea of what kind of rug you have and just what kind of color change has occurred.

Thanks,
Katie
