Question
I am unable to fluff up my double featherbed of three years as it seems permanently flat where I sleep each night.  I heard tennis balls might help with that if put in the dryer with the featherbed, but am unable to put rubbber in the dryer and the dryer has no "air" cycle.  Would you know of another approach to get it fluffy again?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Gail;
You can use just about anything that is harder than the comforter or featherbed itself.
It has to be able to push the featherbed to help to fluff it.

I have used tennis balls many times.
A dryer would have to be on for hours or have a mighty high setting
(I use the permanent press cycle) before it would make the rubber melt.
I have also washed my tennis shoes and thrown those in with
the comforter too. The only thing that you should stay totally away from
is plastic,it is too hard to know the density of the plastic.
A woman that I know has 3 pieces of wood (2 inches by 4 inches)
tied in a nylon, that she uses for her down comforter That she says works great!

Hope this helps Gail---Happy washing,
