Hi Jamie! I am hoping you can help :(

I have a pair of black pants which are branded from Zumba, for my favorite fitness class of the same name. Lately after washing, I have noticed that these pants are getting white spots all over them. They seem to disappear when wet, and almost seem like they will scratch off, but magically appear again when dry. How can I get rid of these spots and keep them gone?

Some background info to help: These pants are 90% nylon, 10% spandex. I wash them inside out in cold water with similar colors, using Arm & Hammer liquid detergent with OxyClean. They do not go in the dryer, but hang dry after washing.

Hi Jessica,

Hmmm...a mystery :)

Here's what I'd suggest:

1. rewash the pants without detergent to try to figure out is it the water or the detergent.

2. wash the pants inside out

3. next time you wash with detergent let it fully dissolve in the water before adding clothing

the oxy clean in the detergent states it can cause these spots- maybe another type?

or your water may need a softener- hard water spots can look like what you describe, the town may have changed the water
