Cleaning Up/dog smell in vacuum

Question
Hi,
We have a dog.  The dog doesn't seem to smell but when we run the vacuum the smell of dog is really strong.  It stays even when you empty the bag.  It is bad.  Can you tell me a way to clean the vacuum so it doesn't smell bad when we run it?

Answer
Hello Lauren,

This is a common problem. I see you empty the bag so that would be #1 and you already do that. Next I'd suggest vacuuming up some baking soda which is a natural deodorizer. You can also wet a cotton ball with vanilla or some other cooking extract and vacuum that up. The other thing to look at is the vent on the vacuum, sometimes this is clogged or needs to be wiped down. You can refer to the owner's manual or call the 800# of the manufacturer for more information on that. Good luck and happy vacuuming. -Jamie
