Cleaning Up/Vacuum Cleaner Question

Question
This question has nothing to do with Oriental rugs but I was hoping to get your opinion.  Is it generally worth the money to purchase a carpet steamer/cleaner or is just better to hire a professional to clean carpets/furniture?

Answer
Hi there,
It is always worth it to hire a professional to clean your Oriental carpets because if you damage them, then the cost to fix them could be astronomical.  For wall-to-wall and furniture, I have found that you will always clean it better than any company you hire.  It is a huge hassle, just to warn you.  I would rent the machine from the hardware store, as it will be better quality than something affordable you might buy, and it won't take up storage space.  Start with an unnoticeable area or an "un-loved" piece of furniture for practice.  If you like the results, go for it.  We've had customers that like the resolve products, so that might be a good interim thing to try.
