About Sijka Expertise How to remove stains, new or set in, from clothing.
What products work best for those "impossible to clean" areas in your home.
What "products" and " appliances" work best in cleaning a home.
Experience I have had a cleaning business for 7 years and have experimented with many products. I contract with hospitals in my area to remove stains from the lab coats the regular cleaners can't remove.
Question i have a male dog and i'm not sure if it's urine or semon that gets onto my furniture. i've tried windes, fantaskic, furniture polish and several other household cleaners. i dont' want to ruin the wood finish and i can't get it off, i've tried scratching it with my finger nail and some comes off that way but i'm even hesitant doing that. any suggestions???
Answer Valerie,
Urine odor and stain removal products fall into three categories: bacterial, enzymatic, and chemical. Here are my top picks of odor removal products.
1) Anti-Icky-Poo by MisterMax
Anti-Icky-Poo is a serious product with a funny name, using genetically altered bacteria (microbes on steroids?) and enzymes to perform its dirty work. Anti-Icky-Poo also works on other kinds of organic substance, such as vomit, although it was primarily designed to combat urine odors. http://www.mistermax.com/
2) Bramton Oxy Solution
Bramton Simple Solution works with hungry bacteria, which eat the odor-causing components of cat urine, leaving behind carbon dioxide and water. The formula is safe on fabrics and carpet - anywhere water can be used. http://www.bramton.com/products_us/newproducts.htm
3) Cat-Off by Thornell
Thornell products contain no bacteria or enzymes, but use a combination of adsorption, counteraction and bonding (chemisorption). It works with various forms of odor-causing decay, and is usually available through your veterinarian.
4) OdorXit
OdorXit is a "contact chemistry," meaning that it works by direct contact with the odor-causing substance. It works in the same manner as the Thornell product, and the manufacturer is very candid about what it will and won't do. A plus is that it can be used safely with detergents. http://www.odorxit.com/odorxit-welcome.php?GoOxB&gclid=CM74jsy5_IsCFQlQWAodnn42b...
5) SeaYu Petrotech Odor Eliminator
Petrotech Odor Eliminator is a fast-acting solution to dozens of odor problems found in the home. It does the job it's advertised to do, efficiently and safely. Petrotech comes in two versions: a spray applicator and a direct stream. I found the spray method quite effective for eliminating odors in garbage cans, even stinky shoes, and the direct spray did the job on carpet odors. http://sea-yu.com/products.html
6) Nature's Miracle
Nature's Miracle is a well-known enzymatic product, and is guaranteed to be safe for use on all water-safe materials. For best results, do not combine with detergents, or use after carpet has been cleaned with detergents. http://www.petmountain.com/brands/93/1/Nature's-Miracle.html
As for the furniture: use OOOO steel wool to remove the residue-be sure to go "with" the grain of the wood. You then might try working in a little mayonaisse with the 0000 steel wool. That sometimes brings the finish back. Otherwise you will have to restain and refinish that area.
