Question
As I watch the Indians play tonight (6-30-01) I noticed that his number is no longer 2, looks like a 39!?

Einar wore #39 during his years in the minor leagues. When he came up to the Indians, Steve Reed was already wearing #39, so he had to choose a different one. Once Reed was traded, Einar immediately switched to his preferred number.
I'm sure glad I put off buying that Diaz #2 t-shirt!
