Question
After a service of this movement the clock now gains 4 hrs in 24hrs. What do you think can be the problem.This is a movement that was given to me by my brother

My guess is that the floating balance is out of whack.  I would return the clock to the person who serviced the clock to give him an opportunity to make necessary adjustments.  In my opinion the floating balance is a solid concept and easy to work with.  Unfortunately many who work upon them do not understand the concept and do more harm than good with their servicing.  I hope this works out well for you.  Regards WJP
