Clocks, Watches/Waterbury Mantel of Shelf Clock
Expert: William J Perkins - 1/28/2008
QuestionI have been trying to get some information on a Waterbury Mantel clock pat. September 13, 1898 but can't find anything about it. The closest clocks I have found photos of is the "Amon" shape but mine has beveled glass only on the front and rear of the clock, has open escapement. Also the "Lozere" style is very close but shorter mine is 13" high 6" wide and 4 1/2" deep, I have gotten the clock to keep pretty good time and now chimes the proper amount on the hours also one chime on the half hour. Any information you can send me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you R.D.P.
AnswerPerhaps you could send me some digital pictures of your clock. I really need more information if I am to assist you. I have looked into my Waterbury reference material and did find a picture and description of the "Lozere" crystal regulator. I can find no reference to "Amon" and my reference works for Waterbury is supposed to provide information on every clock style the firm produced. I would much appreciate your providing me with whatever information you have come across on this model. I hope you can follow through on this request, I suspect it will be beneficial to us both, as well as the reference materials author and publisher. Allexperts does not support attachments so please direct your reply to my e-mail address. Regards WJP
