Question
I have inherited this watch..on the inner dust-cover it states-"to be made of two plates of SOLID GOLD throughout"...the watch is in perfect condition+runs perfect...I want to sell it..is this considered 14k-18k-???GOLD?? BLUE HANDS-PORCELAIN face...PLEASE RESPOND...I don't want to mis-represent this or under-sell....THANKS SO MUCH...DR. PAUL BERTRAND

Answer
Dr. Paul,

It sounds like what is called a double-stock case wherein there is a plate of higher karat gold on the outside and a plate of lower karet gold on the inside, the two plates having been bonded together prior to forming it into a case.  As an example, one would see 14k on the outside and the inside would be 8k.

Kind regards,
Melvin
