Question

Arnex gold pocket watc
My son found a beautiful old gold arnex pocket watch, 17 jewel, incabolic, swiss made, in a vacated house he bought.  It looks so dainty I'm wondering if there's such a thing as a _ladies_ pocket watch. I'm trying to find out about it but don't know how to open the back to see if there's any information that might be helpful.  The front opens fine by pushing the stem down.  The minute hand is still running but the hour hand is bent or broken. Can you tell me anything about it and how I open the back?  Thanks

Answer
Ms. Shirley,

Yes, there is such a thing as a ladies pocket watch.

To open it, you will need a single edged razor blade.  Slip it in  a small crack in the case.  You may need a magnifying glass to see the crack.  GENTLY pry the back open.

Kind regards,

Melvin
