Clocks, Watches/Helbros Alarm - Hands Position

Question
Hi Melvin,

I have a Helbros Alarm mechanical watch which I have just repaired. I am only a 'hobby' repair person. I had to remove the hands to make my repairs, including the hand with the arrow pointer for the alarm setting.

The alarm worked fine, but now the alarm works fine, but is not co-coordinated with the hands.

What can I do to fix this? Thank you and Regards, Ken.

Answer
Ken,

the correct procedure depends on the model.  What works for all models is to use the pointer for the alarm and the hands for the time and syncronize them by taking them off and putting them back on at the time the alarm is going off.  You are getting the time to line up with the alarm, not the other way around.

You might need to have the watch open so you can see the mechanism while doing this.

Kind regards,

Melvin
