Clocks, Watches/Hentschel grandfather clock

Question
My friend does not have Internet so I am doing this for them. They have a Hentschel Model #200, walnut, grandfather clock that he bought as a kit and put together years ago.
Recently it has begun running time very fast and he cannot figure out what is causing it or how to fix it. He adjusted the pendulum and this did not help.  It will keep running faster and faster. Ex: if you set it for 2pm, it will be at 5 pm within a very quick time.
He said there are different knobs and such around the pendulum but he doesn't know what they do.
Can you help or can you give me a address of where he could buy a book of explanations of how to repair it, or anything to help us.
Thank you very much.

Answer
I do not know what mechanism is in this clock- there are a few that can do that - run fast after being ok--they will also show a VERY slow narrow pendulum swing and if it has a second hand on the dial it will perhaps jump ahead in the course of a minute.

Run through this from Howard Miller it may help:
