Question
I have a Kieninger &Obergfell "Kundo" vintage electronic clock with a battery
#825 made in Germany 1.45-1.50 volt. I am looking for the battery? and to
repair the clock.  Any Source for the battery or repair?
Also I have a du Chateau clock that needs the glass that wraps around  the
clock. Do you have any sources?

Answer
Hi Jeffery,

The number "825" is not a battery identification that I am familiar with for this clock, and may be a battery manufacturer's unique number. The Kundo electronic clocks should take either a #8 or #9 Horolovar battery, or two AA cells in a battery converter. These batteries, and the converter, are available from many clock supply houses, such as Timesavers or Merritts Antiques.

Many professional clock repairers can repair the Kundo Electronic clock, but some prefer not to work on them, due to the lack of parts availability, particularly of the electrical parts. If you cannot find a local repairer, you can try the awci.com listing of clockmakers by area, or can web search for a mail-order repairer.

I think the du Chateau clock that you are referring to is a "crystal regulator". These clocks have four glass panels, sometimes beveled, that form their sides. I can find no references to this manufacturer, but you should be able to have this glass made up by a glass shop. If you can't find one locally, their are many specialty glass companies on the Web.  http://www.clockmasteronline.com
