Question
I have a MAUTHE WESTMINSTER CLOCK.
It was a wedding present to my parents an must be about 80/90 years old.It stopped working some years ago.The first time it stopped i had it serviced in 1980 by a Clock Repair Center in Gardens Cape Town.It then worked for some years before it stopped again. Although fully wound up, if I put the pendulum in motion it will go for about 1 minute before it stop. Do you think I can put some oil on the works or is there someone in or around Cape Town who can look at it?

Answer
I suggest you seek out a qualified clock repair person to take care of your clock.  To find such a person make use of the Internet.  Goto
<local.com>  Enter the service you want, in this instance, clock repair.  Then enter your own city of residence or one you can conveniently go to.  This should yield a list of providers that could serve you.  Regards WJP
