Clocks, Watches/Setting time on Grandfather clock

Question
I just received a Hanson Grandfather Clock from my father and set up the weights and pendulum.  It seems to be working OK but can I just move the hands to set the correct time?

Thanks,

Bill

Answer
Sure you can move the hands.  I can't recall anything unusual about a Hanson Clock so I will give you the standard generic instructions as to how to set.  1;  Always move the hands forward, 2;  At each time of striking always allow the clock to complete its strike or chime sequence before proceeding on.  3;  If you inadvertently set the clock to far ahead, simply stop the pendulum until the time showing is correct or behind.  You can then start the clock and proceed to the correct time as instructed above.  This should do you.  Regards WJP
